When we first heard that all the Originals were linked on The Vampire Diaries and the death of one meant the death of all, our first thought was, how is Klaus going to wriggle his way out of this one? You don’t stay alive for a millennium without learning a few tricks. Indeed, the spell is now unbroken, but that doesn’t mean a few Originals won’t go down before the end of Season 3.
For one thing, alterna-Alaric still has a stake hidden somewhere, and Esther isn’t going to let those abominations, a.k.a. her children, roam free so easily. According to Finn, she’s off at Hogwarts library, looking for a spell that will kill her vampire kids. (We assume that’s where all magical research is done, okay?)
But now that we know Damon, Stefan, Caroline and Tyler will die if the Original who spawned their bloodline dies, it seems clear at least one of the OVs will cheat death. Keeping Klaus would save his hybrid — but we don’t know who sired the three vampires. If you had to choose, which Original would you say has to stay alive?
